Natsume yuujinchou is, according to me, one of the best new animes out there. It has been classified as both shoujo and shonen which makes it a great anime to watch for anyone. This anime has shown to have

a calm storyline. The anime is about a boy named Natsume Takashi, who can see demons. However, only a few other humans can see demons, and he, seeing as his parents have died and he is passed around through his relatives, has been excluded and called a liar after telling them that he could see demons. The first episode begins with Natsume running through a forest away from a demon. The demon calls him Natsume Reiko, which is his deceased grandmother's name. He runs until he reaches a shrine and trips on a cord that was sealing a powerful demon, known as Madara. However, what comes out of the shrine is a lucky cat. This lucky cat is Madara in his sealed form. He tells Natsume to call him Nyanko-sensei. He sticks with Natsume mainly because he has the book of friends, inherited from his grandmother which contains a lot of yokai names some of which are very powerful, and some of which are weak.

The story is mainly about Natsume's life becoming brighter and more fun than what his childhood was like and giving back the yokais' names. There are also some battles as to when Natsume must stop yokai from trying to steal the book of friends. Overall I loved the anime and would say that it's a must see. When I had first heard of the anime I thought "Psh, what a boring story line. Oh well, I might as well watch it." and after watching one episode I was saying "Must Watch More Episodes." Out of all the characters, Nyanko sensei was my favourite. Especially seeing as Kakashi's voice actor was voicing him. (^.^) It also has a beautiful soundtrack (3 songs are on my ipod thing XD)
I would rate it: 4.5/5 stars!
